Mares Chase

	The Libertine Mares Chase is a Grade 2 race open to 5-year-olds and above over 2 miles 4 furlongs and 127 yards and 17 fences and was first staged in 2021, replacing the Centenary Novices Handicap Chase which transferred to Sandown.
Early history:-The inaugural running of the Libertine Mares Chase, now known as the Mrs Paddy Power Mares Chase, took place on 19th March 2021 when won by Colreevy (9/4) owned by Mrs N Flynn, trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by Paul Townend, beating Elimay (6/5 fav) owned by John P McManus, trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by Mark Walsh, with Shattered Love (6/1) owned by Gigginstown House, trained by Mrs Denise Foster and ridden by Jack Kennedy in third.
Over the entire history of the race 33% of favourites have been successful, placing the race 15th of the 28 current races. Over the entire history of the race a level stake bet of £10 on every favourite would have resulted in a £12 loss, placing the race 18th of the current 28 races.
